Maritime refit delivery
YOT engineers the technology package with the yard, integrator or owner's representative, supplies it on one bill of materials, builds and tests the racks ashore, manages the onboard installation programme, and commissions AMS, PMS and vessel systems onto the platform it has delivered. Onboard cable laying and containment are carried out by subcontracted labour under YOT's management.

A refit is not a purchase order with an install at the end. These are the phases a yard and an owner's representative are actually managing, and where YOT sits in each.
The requirement is captured with the yard, the integrator, the captain or the owner's representative before any SKU exists. What each network has to carry, which areas are served, which vessel systems depend on it, who supports it after handover, and which parts of the brief are still assumption rather than decision. Scope boundaries between YOT, the yard and the other trades are written down at this point, not discovered later.
Rack layouts and usable rack units rather than nominal cabinet height. Cable tray and containment layouts, uplink and deck-to-deck routing with route, approximate length, existing cable type and termination recorded per link. PoE budgets built device by device at stated maximum draw with headroom for startup demand. Power feeds, outlet types, UPS arrangement, airflow and cooling path. Wi-Fi coverage assessed against real bulkheads, metalwork, service voids and mounting constraints, not an idealised deck plan.
One vendor-agnostic bill of materials instead of five quotes from five suppliers. Hardware, optics and media converters, passive layer, licensing, staging and freight priced together. Availability is checked against the refit programme, and critical-path items are identified separately for first fix, for commissioning and for handover, so the yard knows which lines cannot slip.
Racks are assembled, cabled, terminated, dressed, labelled to a single scheme, firmware-levelled, imaged and load-tested ashore in our facility. Factory acceptance testing sits here: the kit is powered and exercised on our bench, and an as-built port map is produced with the build sheet. Failures surface in the facility rather than in a dry dock.
Containment, tray runs and cable laying aboard are executed by subcontracted labour under YOT's programme and quality control. YOT sequences the work against the yard's schedule and the other trades sharing the same routes, rack spaces and power provision, holds the method and the inspection points, and reports progress against the programme. The outcome, the quality and the programme are YOT's; the hands aboard are subcontracted.
AMS, PMS and the other vessel systems are brought onto the platform YOT has supplied and built. Servers, network, addressing and rack infrastructure are configured, the applications are integrated onto that platform alongside bridge, AV and control systems, links and failover are validated, and site acceptance testing is run against the agreed brief. YOT supplies and integrates the infrastructure and configures the systems onto it; YOT is not the AMS or PMS software vendor and does not licence those applications.
A documentation pack is handed over: as-built records, port maps, addressing, configuration baselines and test results in the form class, yard and owner's surveyors ask for. Spares are planned against the installed estate, RMA paths stay with your account team, and licence and subscription renewals are tracked in FUSE for the life of the vessel.
Equipment orders are easier to place than to change. These are the checks that decide whether a design survives contact with the vessel.

Each link is documented by origin, destination, route, approximate length, media and termination, which is what decides copper, multimode or single-mode fibre and the optics that go with it.
Access points, cameras, phones, controllers and converters are listed per switch at maximum draw and compared against the switch budget. Port count alone does not confirm a switch can power the endpoints.
Usable U, cable management, patching, power distribution, service access and airflow are confirmed together. A layout that fits on a drawing can still block ventilation.
Access point positions are agreed by zone against ceiling materials, bulkheads, service voids and aesthetic restrictions, with cable route and mounting method confirmed for each.
Delivery date, address, site contact and yard or marina receiving restrictions are confirmed before the equipment list is treated as final.

Alarm monitoring and planned maintenance systems are only as dependable as the servers, network and rack infrastructure beneath them. YOT supplies and builds that layer: compute sized for the applications, resilient switching and uplinks, addressing and segmentation, power and cooling in the cabinet, and a documented as-built record. The AMS and PMS applications are then configured, integrated and commissioned onto that platform alongside bridge, AV and control systems, and validated during site acceptance testing.
YOT is not the software vendor for these systems and does not licence them. Where certified hardware is part of the answer, the YOT × IDEA relationship covers marine-certified compute and display platforms for the vessel.
The boundary is contractual, so it is written here rather than left to interpretation.
Early review is most useful before the equipment list is fixed, when uplink, power or rack assumptions are still open, or when the programme leaves no room for substitutions.
