Cisco and Meraki project supply

Cisco Catalyst, Meraki and Business switching supplied as one built and tested project

YOT LTD supplies Cisco switching, wireless and Meraki cloud managed hardware into maritime, enterprise and commercial projects, quoted as one bill of materials. We configure multicast, VLANs and QoS for AV workloads before the switch leaves the bench, which is where most Cisco projects lose time.

What YOT does with the Cisco line

Pre-sales sizing, assembly, firmware levelling, imaging and burn-in testing happen before dispatch, so the work left on site is installation.

Switch selection against the actual design

Catalyst 1200 and 1300 or Business CBS250 and CBS350 is not a preference question. We size it against port count, multigig need, Layer 3 requirements and the throughput the design has to carry.

Multicast configuration for NVX and Dante

IGMP snooping, querier placement, VLAN separation and QoS are applied and verified in our lab, using the same configuration approach we publish for Crestron NVX and Dante deployments.

Meraki licensing and claim

Licences are matched to the hardware term and devices claimed into your dashboard organisation, so the network appears in Meraki before the installer opens the box.

Firmware levelling and imaging

Every switch and access point in a rollout leaves on the same firmware, with configurations imaged so field replacements behave identically to the unit they replace.

Rack build, labelling and burn-in

Switch stacks are racked, patched, labelled and burn-in tested, then shipped with a build sheet per consignment.

RMA, spares and lifecycle

Replacement paths and end of life planning stay with the account, including guidance when a series is superseded mid project.

Cisco product families we supply

Part of our networking and connectivity portfolio: Switching, routing, wireless and hybrid WAN for vessels, sites and distributed offices.

FamilyWhat it isTypical use
Catalyst 1200 and 1300 seriesThe current small business managed switching line, succeeding the CBS250 and CBS350 with the same deployment role.New builds and refreshes where the CBS line was previously specified.
Cisco Business CBS250 and CBS350Managed switching with Layer 2 and Layer 3 features, PoE, multigig options and energy efficiency, long specified for SMB and AV networks.Existing estates being extended rather than replaced.
Cisco MerakiCloud managed switching, wireless and security with centralised visibility and remote management from the dashboard.Multi-site estates and managed service delivery.
Meraki and Catalyst togetherCatalyst hardware managed through the Meraki dashboard, combining Catalyst capability with cloud operations.Estates migrating to cloud management without replacing switching.
Cisco Wi-Fi 7 access pointsThe Wi-Fi 7 generation across Meraki and Catalyst wireless, with the licensing model covered in our Wi-Fi 7 article.High density wireless refreshes and new build fit-outs.

Where Cisco fits

Maritime and refit
Compact managed switching for vessel networks where AV, control and crew traffic share the same infrastructure and must stay separated.
Enterprise
Campus and branch switching with cloud management, sized for growth rather than for the current headcount.
Commercial and AV
Crestron NVX and Dante deployments where multicast handling and QoS decide whether the install works on day one.
Energy and industrial
Resilient switching where remote visibility matters more than rack density.
