Handsets are the easy part of a voice project. What decides whether calls work is the switch underneath them: enough PoE budget once cameras and access points are counted, a separate voice VLAN, and QoS trust configured rather than assumed. What YOT does with the Cisco voice and UC line

Pre-sales sizing, assembly, firmware levelling, imaging and burn-in testing happen before dispatch, so the work left on site is installation.

PoE budget calculated, not estimated

We list every powered device per switch by stated maximum draw, including phones, access points, cameras and controllers, then compare the total against the switch PoE budget with headroom for startup demand. Port count alone does not confirm a switch can power the endpoints.

Voice separated on its own VLAN

Voice is segmented from data and guest traffic at design stage, so a busy data network does not degrade calls and the voice segment can be secured separately.

QoS configured before dispatch

Switch QoS is set and trust mode applied in our facility rather than left to on-site improvisation, the same discipline we apply to AV over IP deployments.

Endpoints labelled per location

Handsets, patch cords and their switch ports are labelled as a set per desk or cabin, so installation is placement rather than tracing.

Firmware levelling

Endpoints and switches leave on a consistent firmware level across the rollout, which removes the mismatch that makes provisioning behave differently between sites.

Spares and RMA

Replacement handsets and switch spares are planned into the order for sites where a dead extension cannot wait on a courier.
